Disney World

For Thanksgiving this year we decided that we would go to Disney World. We were a little unsure how the trip would go considering we were driving and also Conner's age. We left the Friday before Thanksgiving and came back the Friday after Thanksgiving. Conner did great on the drive to Orlando, he watched Baby Einstien and slept most of the time. Going to and from Orlando he may have fussed 20 minutes the whole entire time. Thank goodness for the Van's DVD player !!! We had a blast at Disney World. Epcot was our favorite, and we really like Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Animal Kingdom was okay, but it was definitely our least favorite out of the four parks. We were on the go the whole week. We got to the parks early in the morning and stayed all day, and some nights too! We spent at least 10 hours a day at the parks. Conner had a blast, he liked looking at all the people, he loved all the bright colors, and he also enjoyed all the rides we went on. Needless to say he was continuously stimulated during the trip since their was so much to look at. He was also impressed with the fireworks show, once the fireworks started going off, he was in a trance. It was a very tiring week, but we had a blast. We are all glad to be back home now because at the end of the trip all three of us were worn out. We definitely needed a vacation from out vacation !!!

Mmm...good!

We went to Outback for Mimi's birthday on Saturday. Conner got to sample the birthday dessert. We discovered how much he loves ice cream and fudge. I didn't think we were going to get out of that place without a meltdown when the ice cream was gone!

Waiting on his steak!

Work with Mommy

Conner got to spend a few hours at work with me last week when he was sick. The weekend before we had to take him to the after-hours clinic. He had pink eye in both eyes and another double ear infection. Shayne had a conference in Hoover so I kept Conner at work for a few hours. He did pretty good considering it's usually as quiet as a libray in my office!

2nd Attempt

Yeah! He got it right this time!

1st Attempt

He never does it the right way once the camera is on him!

Our water bill is about to go up!

He loves this toy!

Yesterday at Braelyn's party, Conner kept trying to play with her new Dora dollhouse. So, Uncle Johnny found one of Braelyn's old toys for Conner to play with. Well, he loved it so much that it ended up coming home with us (oops)! Thank you Uncle Johnny and Braelyn for letting us borrow your toy. He played with it all night and this morning. He has a thing for opening and closing doors...who knows why? :)

Happy Birthday Braelyn

Miss Braelyn turns 4 years old today and we had a party for her yesterday. We had turkey and dressing and green beans for lunch (early Thanksgiving meal) and cake and ice cream. She got some really cool toys too! I think Conner liked her Dora house more than anybody!

Trick or Treat

Conner had a good time trick or treating Friday night. He got as many suckers as he could find! He's been teething for about 2 weeks now and I think that sucker felt good to his gums. He looks very concentrated.

Here are some pictures from our night. Conner is already a lady's man. We visited our neighbor's across the street and they have 2 teenage girls that had all their friends over. They just loved Conner Carnes (that's what they call him)!

Humility Day

We had what is being called "Humility Day" at work last Friday. Everyone had to wear their opponents team colors/logos to work for the day. I'll have to say, it was very weird putting an Auburn jersey on. I don't see how people ever convert from one team to the other :) We had a few cheaters...my boss (Ed, on the right) he had an Auburn t-shirt under his Alabama pullover. I wasn't clever enough to think about that! Oh well, it was a lot of fun and made the office much more exciting for the day. We had Crazy Cajun's catered in for lunch since everyone is against LSU. It was a day of humbling.

Playing around the house

This little guy is into everything these days. The house is now officially baby-proof. He still tries to play with the cat food even though we've told him "no-no" a thousand times. I guess he'll learn what "no-no" actually means before too long.
He can stand up all by himself now for a few seconds and then he sits down once he realizes what he's done. He definitely has this crawling thing down pat. He loves crawling underneath anything and everything. That's why the exersaucer is in the closed position above (to keep him from banging his head under it). Guess he outsmarted us on that one...looks like he's going to crawl on it now :)

Go Bama!

We went to a block party last night for the AL-TN game at our neighbor's house. They had a really good setup. The game was projected outside against this huge tarp, we had chili, and kept warm next to the fire pits. Conner was very good. He actually sat in my lap for most of the first half and took a little nap. We stayed bundled up in a blanket and I think he enjoyed all the excitement going on around us. I'm glad we managed to pull off another win! Why couldn't they have been this good when I was in school :) ?
