Getting Strong

Conner is just now getting to where he can lift his head really good while on his belly. He doesn't like his tummy time so I was afraid he would be a little slow in this area. Every night after he gets a bath I give him a massage with the baby lotion. This is the only way he actually enjoys being on his belly. So I guess it is starting to pay off. He held himself up for a good 5 minutes like this last night. Oh and not to mention he has been sick since Friday. I picked him up at daycare and he had a nasty cough. He's been sneezing and coughing but has not developed a fever yet (thank goodness). I am staying home with him until he gets better. Hopefully, he'll be feeling better by tomorrow so I can go back to work.

2nd Day of Daycare

So Conner once again was asleep when we left him at daycare yesterday! Here are some pics that we took of him before we left. He is still doing good and seems to enjoy it. He has been napping a lot up there though. I think it is just a stimulation overload since everything is so new to him. They have lots of toys to keep them occupied too and he loves to play. So he is probably playing so hard that he wears himself out. Works for me though. He went to bed at 8:15 last night and didn't wake up until 6:15 this morning. I'm glad that he isn't being moody or anything from the adjustment.

Gotta go....sounds like the cat is tearing up my kitchen :o

First Day of Daycare

Well, I had to start back to work today. Shayne and I took Conner to daycare first thing this morning. He fell asleep on the drive to the church and was still sleeping when we left him. That made it a little easier on me. I actually made it the whole day without being sad or crying. I did miss him like crazy though. Conner had a really good report when I picked him up this afternoon. He enjoyed playing and took a few naps throughout the day. I think they even brought in a tv and let them watch Baby Einstein. I'm sure he loved that! I didn't take any pictures since he was asleep when we left and also when I picked him up. Maybe I can take one tomorrow of him in his bed at daycare. All in all, it was a good day and I feel really good about leaving him now. He seemed to really enjoy everything.

Happy Valentines Day

We had a very laid back Valentine's Day last night. I got a big jumbo card from Shayne and a cute little card from Conner. Shayne gave me a very thoughtful gift...a pink and black softball glove and cleats! I am planning on playing in the church league this summer so I need to start practicing a little. I cooked dinner for us at home because we don't like to get out in the whole V-day crowd and wait 3 hours for a table somewhere. We had a good time sharing Valentine's with our little man!

Clean Boy

This is Conner after his bath right before bed time the other night. Those baths just wear that boy out. He sleeps so good afterwards.

2 Month Check-up

I forgot to post about Conner's 2 month check up at the doctor last week. He weighed 12 lb 7 oz and is 23 inches long. He had to get 4 shots and take one vaccine by mouth. He didn't mind the one by mouth and he did really good on the first two shots. Those last two hurt him pretty badly though and he let us know it. I think it really hurt his feelings more than anything. He actually fell asleep before we even left the office. I didn't get any pictures this time because I kind of had my hands full the whole time. As you can imagine, he was a pitiful little baby the rest of the day and I made sure to love on him a whole lot!

Also, he got to stay in the church daycare for the first time this morning. This is where he will be staying when I go back to work in a week. He did really good and the ladies even had him asleep by the time we came to pick him up. So, I think he's going to like it! It will probably be more of an adjustment for me than it will be for him...!

One Cool Baby!

We went to see daddy's baseball team play a scrimmage game on Saturday. It sure was nice and sunny outside!

Asleep at Dinner

We went out to dinner Friday night and Shayne was holding the baby. Before we even ordered, we looked down and he had passed out! It was so cute!

He Found the TV

I was feeding Conner this morning while I watched the news. I was wondering why he had his head turned completely to the side while he was eating. It didnt take long to figure out that he was watching the tv. So I put him in his bumbo seat and turned on some cartoons for him. He loved it! He sat there for about 15 minutes and just stared at the tv. He still can't hold his head up for a long period of time so I think that's what did him in. He looks so funny sitting down there watching the tv!

Long Overdue Karaoke Night

As you probably know from my past blogs (like a year ago), we usually get together with my sister and her family for karaoke every once in awhile. We haven't gotten together in a long time and this one was way overdue. Conner hung out and slept in my mom's arms all night which worked out great because Shayne and I could actually have fun and sing some songs. We also played Rock Band which was very fun! You can see from the pics that we all had a good time!

Steak Dinner Fundraiser

The baseball team had their steak dinner fundraiser the other day. Basically, Outback donates a bunch of dinners and we sell them. Its kind of a production getting all the sacks packed with the right amount of dinners. Conner decided he didnt want to help so he just sat in the corner and slept most of the time.
