Another Ear Infection....

Yes, we have another ear infection. That's two in one month...not good. You would never believe that Monkey-boy would have been sick with an ear infection on the right ear Saturday morning. He was just as happy and smiling for his pictures. I knew something was up Saturday afternoon b/c he was running a fever. He had his flu shot the day before, so I was hoping that's all it was from. Just to make sure, I called the doctor to see if we needed to go to the After Hours clinic and we did. Of course this all happened around 5:30 and AL kicked off at 6:45, so we thought we'd be able to get back at least by half time. Nope, they had a new computer system that was not cooperating and everything backed up 3 to 4 hours. Anyway, we missed the entire game and didn't get home until 11 that night.

Most importantly, little man is already better and hasn't had anymore fever since yesterday morning. I'm wondering how many more of these we have to get before it's time for tubes....

Monkey-boy

I couldn't wait to post a sneak peek of Conner's Halloween costume this year. We took him to Walmart this morning and had his picture taken at the portrait studio. The pictures actually turned out really cute considering it's from Walmart. I won't get the pictures back for a few more weeks, so I'll share them then. You can imagine the attention this little boy got shopping for groceries afterwards!

Aldridge Gardens

Two of my friends from work have recently got married. Stacey got married 2 weeks ago and I didn't get to take any pictures b/c Conner went with us. Needless to say, we were busy occupying him the whole time! Jennifer got married last night and Mimi came to stay with the baby so we could have a nice relaxing time. Both weddings were very beautiful and they had some good food and cake. Stacey is very talented... she not only made Jennifer's cake, but she also made the cakes at her own wedding. Congrats to the two newlyweds, we were glad to share these special times with them!

Where's Buffy?

This really makes me nervous, but Conner loves to look down the stairs at Buffy. We have a gate at the top of the steps to keep him from falling down. Buffy is always running from Conner and so she knows he can't get to her from here. So Conner just hangs out at the rail and laughs down at Buffy.

Roll Tide

Here's "cool-daddy" and his "friend" taking a wagon ride during half-time.

What a Mess...

Did I mention he started crawling about 3 weeks ago? He has learned to get behind the couch by watching Buffy (our cat) run from him!

Fun on the Deere!

Conner enjoyed his ride on the John Deere after Daddy was finished cutting the grass last weekend.

No More 4 Eyes

This is the last picture of me wearing glasses forever (I hope). I finally went to have LASIK eye surgery this morning. I was pretty nervous once they got me back in the surgery room and started doing stuff. I guess that's where the valium kicked in and helped. The whole procedure took about 20 minutes and was painless for the most part. The tape they put on you is the worst part about it.

After surgery, you are supposed to take sleeping pills and sleep all day. Well Shayne forgot to turn the flash off and this ticked me off a little. Sorry for the ugly face...I think I was cursing him there! Nice goggles, huh? :)

Last, this is all the stuff I have to keep in my bathroom: glasses, eye drops, contacts, saline solution. Needless to say, I'm throwing all of this away!

Somebody likes Mommy's Roast

Conner enjoyed my roast, potatoes, and carrots for dinner tonight. He is getting to where he doesn't like the baby food anymore. We still need a few more teeth before we can eat all table foods.

Sick Baby

I took Conner to the doctor on Friday for his 9 month check up. It was good timing b/c he had been running a low grade fever and his top gums were swollen. I just figured the fever was due to his top two teeth coming in. Conner had a small cold about a week ago and they wanted to check his ears just to be sure. Well, what do you know...we have a double ear infection again. I'm really glad the doctor caught it early b/c if not we would have ended up at Childrens on my b'day trying to figure out what was wrong with him. The last ear infection we didn't catch until his fever was 104F. Conner isn't the type of baby to pull at his ears and so I never know when he's getting sick. He wasn't even fussy either. Thankfully, we got antiobiotics in him this time before the infection got too bad. We only got up to 101.6F this time. We still took him to Tuscaloosa with us and he did fine. As long as we keep the Motrina and Tylenol in him he's fine. He's feeling a little better today, but he's still being a momma's boy since he got to stay home from daycare.

This baby has a had a bad week - double ear infection, top teeth coming in, and diaper rash on top of that. Poor baby!

T-town

This past Saturday was my birthday and we went to T-town to tailgate for the day. We had a small birthday party with a double cookie cake (mmmm, good)! Of course, we end up buying something for Conner. We went to pick up the cake at Sam's and saw they had wagons. We have been wanting to buy one, but just haven't yet. It turned out to be a great purchase because we ended up riding him around the parking lot during half time and he loved it. He thinks he's a big boy now.

Flying to Baltimore

I had a conference in Baltimore a few weeks ago and Shayne and Conner got to come along. This was Conner's first time to fly so we were all a little nervous. I wasn't sure how he would act on the plane. He actually did pretty good. It was a 2 hour flight and we kept him occupied. I don't think we could have done a longer flight though unless he took a nap. We ran out of tricks by the time we got there.

Going up, up, and away!
Oh my goodness, what are we doing?!

Baltimore to D.C.

There is a train that takes you from Baltimore to D.C. in about 45 minutes. This was actually mine and Shayne's first time to take a train. It wasn't much different from a subway. Once we got to Union Station, we jumped on a double decker tour bus that took us all around the sites. We didn't have time to go into the museums and see everything but the tour bus was the best way to see the sites with the limited time that we had. Some of the pictures below are of the Captiol Building, the Ford Theatre, White House, Washington Monument, Embassy Row, and some that I don't remember! It would take at least two full days to actually see everything there.

Baltimore

We walked around most of dowtown Baltimore and took some great pictures around the harbor. We got to go to an Orioles game one night as part of an invitation from one of the vendors at the conference. Conner was really great the whole trip and enjoyed all the strolling around town that we did.
