It's been a month since I've had time to update the blog. Little man started walking a month ago and that's been keeping me busy at home. He's into everything! We discovered he loves chocolate milk. It's funny watching him drink it b/c he won't stop drinking it until it's completely gone. He'll have to stop a few times and take a breather!
He has learned to say elephant thanks to some Barney videos. He knows where his belly button, feet, and ears are, how to say touchdown and hold his arms up. He can make the monkey noise and sometimes the puppy sound. He still loves his paci for nite-nite time only..and I'm afraid we will have trouble getting rid of it for good. He still only has 8 teeth but I think the next round isn't too far away. Lastly, he is very independent and stubborn like his mommy and doesn't think he needs help with anything...not even when he stands up in the slippery bathtub.
The bad news is that he is still getting ear infections even after the tubes. His left ear tube has actually plugged up from an infection and he got a fever last week b/c of it. So he's on antibiotics to clear it up from the inside since the fluid can't drain. The right ear has already shown fluid drainage twice now and we've treated it with ear drops. That seems to clear up the infection pretty quickly. It's very fustrating that these tubes have not seemed to help as much as we thought. I'm really afraid that he may end up with hearing damage if these don't stop. He's such a free spirited child and is so happy most of the time even when he's sick. I just hope that he can grow out of this soon.

Hey, girl!!
Just some info: Cole had the same problem. His first set of tubes didn't help at all. Well, it did help with the pain, because all the fluid just drained out, but he continued to get ear infection after ear infection. Eventually the doctor put a new set of tubes in and things seemed to settle down, although he did still get a few afterwards.
I assure you he has zero hearing problems. Of course, he'd like us to think that he does when trying to get out of something that he doesn't want to do. But I just ask him to tell me what I said, and he instantly repeats it to me.
Don't worry about it too much. This went on with Cole for well over a year. I think you're in the clear as far as hearing issues go. And, if you have issues, go seek a second opinion. We did and it helped ease my mind.
Katelyn has her first ear infection right now since she got tubes in August. I thought she was doing so good until she ran a fever the other day. I thought she just had a cold & took her to the Dr. b/c she was running fever & discovered she had an ear infection. That was the last thing on my mind, two days later the other ear started draining & they still haven't stopped. It looks like we may be in the same boat. I just hope this doesn't happen all of the time now. I also heard this time of year is the worst for ear infections so maybe in the spring it will be better.
Good to see y'all the other night sorry we didn't get a chance to talk.
Sorry Conner is still having trouble with his ears. Those ear infections are no fun.Maybe if he can get through the winter it will be better in the spring.I would love to do lunch again soon if you wanted.
Don't worry so much about the paci. Brady loved it and I told the doctor I wasn't going to do the paci and bottle at the same time. And he said he was fine with him having it till he was 3. But at 2 I attempted and took it away and told him he was a big boy and he never asked for it again. He was very attached so it might not be so bad. All of your new pics are precious. Love the one in the toy box.
I'm ready to see Mr. Conner walk. I think I am the only one who hasn't got to see it yet! =(
