"My Futures So Bright, I Got To Wear Shades"

Conner has had an obsession recently about wearing his sunglasses. Here are a few of Joe Cool's latest pics.

August 15 At Lake Martin

The Hughes' Family invited us down to their place on Lake Martin for the weekend. We had a great time and it was nice for Conner to get to spend some time playing and being around other kids. We had a great time and it was nice getting to hang out with our friends at the lake. We spent most of our time either on the water or in it !!! Thanks RJ and Jenn for having us and we hope to do it again soon!!!

Tubes: For The Second Time

Yes, Conner had to have a second set of tubes put in on August 13th. The tube in the right ear was almost all the way out and it was clogged. So the ENT suggested that he get another set of tubes. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. but we were out of their by 8:00 a.m. Conner did very well and hopefully this will cut down on future ear infections. This little fellow has been through alot with his ears so far and we are praying that sooner rather than later his ear problems go away!!!
I know something is up, I just can't put my finger on it!

Conner and Daddy Chillin Watchin Cartoons On The TV

At Smith Lake

It has been a while since the last post but we have been spending most of our free time at the lake since we bought our new boat. We took the boat to the Smith Lake the weekend after we got it and we had a blast. We rode and swam all day long, and we loved it! We were a little nervous because we weren't sure how Conner would act on the water. Well all I can say is that he has become a little lake rat! He loves swimming in the lake and he is not afraid of getting in the water at all. That is a big change from our vacation at the beach last summer. All in all in was a great day although we did have a little trouble getting the boat back on the trailer. After a few tries we got it on there the way it is suppose to be :). We are new to the whole boating thing and we are learning as we go!

Our new toy!

This is our new toy!!! Shayne went down to Pensacola and picked it up today. We bought it from an individual down there and it's basically brand new. I can't wait to take it out this weekend. We've been itching to buy something fun and I'm really excited that we settled on a boat instead of a travel trailer now. I don't know if I'm really the camping type since the mosquitos love me!! Anyway, I know that we'll have fun on the boat. I've always had a blast using everyone else's water toys in the past and now we finally have our own :)

Kadie's Birthday Party: Chuck-E-Cheese

Miss Kadie turned 4 years old yesterday!! We went to Chuck-E-Cheese's last night to celebrate and Conner had a blast. He ran around the whole time exploring everything including the men's bathroom (that story to follow below). He really enjoyed riding the kiddie rides and playing with the fake Chuck-E on the stage. Happy Birthday Miss Kadie Grace!!!!

Runaway Baby Episode 2 - Half way through the party, after everyone was finished eating pizza, Conner once again snuck out of sight. Shayne and I were both there watching him and we still didn't see where he went. I wasn't freaking out b/c there's a lady that stands at the door and won't let the kids leave without the appropriate parents. So, I knew he was somewhere in the building. After all, if you keep up with this blog then you know this a recurring event for us lately....at some point you become desensitized.

After two rounds through the arcade, we decide to try the long hallway where the bathrooms were. Sure enough, a blue streak catches our eyes and then he hauls straight back into the men's bathroom. At this point, Shayne passes another dad exiting the restroom and he politely told us that we may want to wash our son's hands. Apparently, he was playing in the toilet!!! Ugggh....That man probably thought we were the worst parents. Little does he know, but we have the wildest child on earth. Don't be surprised if Conner Carnes is an only child :)

After the Party: Grocery shopping.

We had to run by Publix after the party and Conner got into his goodie bag while we shopped.

Still wide open!

Finally pooped-out...

Happy Birthday Aiden and Austin!

Conner went to his first real kid birthday party today at Jumpin Jax for Aiden and Austin's 3rd B'day. He had sooo much fun and I think the birthday boys did too! I don't know who was worn out more: me or Conner. He was still a little too small to do all the bouncers by himself so I took him through everything and he loved the slides! Oh yeah, I only lost the "runaway baby" twice today!

Happy 3 rd B'day Aiden and Austin! We had a great time!

Has anyone seen Conner?

Conner laughed as hard as I have ever heard him when we went down the slides.

Getting in to everything!

Washing Daddy's Truck

Conner helped Daddy wash the truck yesterday. You can see he also washed his hair while he was at it!

First Trip to McWane

Conner only goes to daycare part time during the summer. Since it was rainy on Monday, Shayne and Mimi decided to take Conner to the McWane center instead of it being a daycare day. I was a bit jealous b/c I had to work while they had fun. I made sure Shayne took the camera along so I wouldn't miss out on too much.

From the pictures, I take it that this little boy had a BIG time! I think next time we'll just go ahead and buy the family pass for the year.

Look at that big grin. He can do the play gym all by himself.
The story of our life: chasing after the "Runaway Baby." That's his new nickname.
Apparently, Daddy didn't see the big sign in the back.

Still running...

Funny Pic!

This was last night on our way home from eating at Ryan's Steakhouse with my parents, Shayne's mom and aunt. Conner had a full day of playing outside and then eating a full meal at the buffet. His hair was a mess and he looked like Pippi Longstocking with those two curls on both sides of his head. Yes, my child has red hair. Where it came from we don't know. Everyone asks us (even strangers). We don't have a problem with his hair being red, it's actually pretty. It's just the fact that we really have no explanation for it!

First Bowl of Real Cereal

I got brave and let Conner try out his first bowl of real cereal with milk and everything. He's been doing pretty good with the spoon, so we gave it a shot. He didn't do too bad. Although, the pocket of the bib was full of milk afterwards. I do think he managed to get enough of the actual cereal in his mouth.

3 Year Anniversary

Shayne and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary last Tuesday. We went to Alabama Adventure all by ourselves. We actually got to ride all of the slides and rides and realized that the Lazy River can really be lazy! We had a picnic in the van for lunch. It was nice to be able to spend some time together without running after a toddler. We did miss our baby though!

We also went our for a nice dinner downtown at Twenty Six. It was very yummy and we will be going back for special occasions.

Just Playing

Conner loves to play with his trucks now. He will bring them all from his playroom to the den and drive them around the couch and the coffee table. He says "beep-beep" and then crashes them over the edge. You would think that this boy would be playing ball already considering Shayne and I both played ball all of our lives. However, he could care less about his basket of balls. They rarely get touched. That's okay for now, I'm sure he'll figure out the ball thing soon enough.

He also likes to talk on the phone. He crawls up on the couch to get the phone and then lounges back and talks away to his imaginary friend.

4th of July

We stayed around the house for the 4th this year. My whole family was out of town in 3 different places between all of them. So, we had a low key holiday. We bought Conner a big blow up slide to play on now that the fence is finished. I wasn't sure how big this thing was going to be when we bought it. I probably overdid it for a 19 month old, but he'll be a pro at it next year. In the meantime, I can have fun slidng down it!

We had planned to go downtown for Thunder on the Mountain, but decided to shoot our own fireworks with the neighbors. Conner didn't pay too much attention to them besides an occasional "yeah" and clap whenever a loud one was shot. He was too busy playing with all of Riley's toys!
