Bragging Rights!

Shayne and I went on a date Friday night to dinner and bowling. Needless to say, I was on fire that night. We played four games and I won every game!! My highest score of the night was 192! For some reason Shayne kept wanting to make bets before each game and I won 3 weeks of no laundry. You would think after I bet him the first 2 times he would have given up!! Oh well, no laundry for me for awhile :)

Conner's New Ride

We took Conner for a drive in his new coupe that he got for Christmas. This is going to be great at the ballpark this spring!

Christmas Day

Conner got up bright and early Christmas morning ready to see what Santa brought him (well I think Mommy and Daddy were more excited than Conner)! He got his very own kitchen with pots and pans and groceries. Mommy was very excited because Conner likes to open and close doors in the big kitchen so this will hopefully keep him content in his playroom. He also got a toy box which he would rather climb in than store toys (that's ok, whatever works)! Santa also brought a bunch of movies, cd's, cd player, and of course a ball, bat, and glove.

Later that day we went to my parents house to have Christmas over there. We had a good meal and played some of my dad's fun traditional games. He likes to put money in a bag and let everyone draw twice. Of course I ended up with the least amount, two 5 dollar bills. Shayne racked up with 30 bucks. Conner got more great toys from everyone. I think we now own most of Toys-r-us in our house!!!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

For Christmas Eve, we visited Shayne's family at his sister's house. Conner was all over the place and very hard to keep up with. He discovered steps and how to climb up them. That occupied him for about an hour. By the time we got to the presents he was tuckered out from all the exercise! He got lots of cool toys and has since played with all of them at home. He wasn't too interested in much more that night other than getting to bed. He was passed out in the car before we got out of the subdivision. We had no trouble getting this little boy to bed so Santa would come!

Work Christmas Lunch

My group Christmas lunch at work was last Friday. Shayne and Conner got to come enjoy all the yummy food with me and my co-workers. Conner must be learning to get what he wants at all costs at daycare. This little boy can be mean when he wants something.

Conner trying the get the door from Caleb.

Meanie pulled Caleb down.

Now he hurt Caleb's feelings! He wanted to open and close the door too. (see Conner behind the door pushing it shut)

Little terd!

So, it looks like we need to start working on some manners and how to share. We're sorry Caleb. Hopefully, you will still come and play with Conner at the next scrapbook party!

I thought this was the cutest smile!

Santa Picture

We went to visit Santa right after Thanksgiving. I just kept forgetting to post the picture. Conner was a wild man. You can see Santa is trying to hold his leg down. He always kicks those legs like he's running when he gets excited. After 4 shots, Santa's helpers finally captured a smile. He must be looking at me over there on the side.

Unlike our visit to see Santa last year, we only waited in line for about 20 minutes and we didn't drive to the Galleria during rush hour this time! I was looking at our Santa visit blog from last year and remembered the nightmare that it was. We had a much better experience this time!

I got Tagged!

The object of the picture tag is to:
1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer.
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder.
3) Explain the picture.
4) Tag 4 people to do the same.No cheating (cropping, editing, etc.)Have fun!!!

This is me and Barney Fife at the G'dale Magonolia Fesival last spring. He had the one bullet in his hand. If you've ever seen the Andy Griffith show, he wasn't allowed to carry a loaded gun so he kept one bullet in his shirt pocket.
I'm tagging Christie Dawson, Julie Wheless, Jennifer (Cannon) Cotton, and Kim Davis.

Pizza Boy

It seems like Conner has been eating everything all the time since his surgery. This was yesterday afternoon after he had already eaten his lunch. I made myself a pizza and he almost had a fit for some. This little boy doesn't like for anyone else to feed him but himself. So I let him have it and this is the mess we made. Not too bad for a 1 year old I guess!

Also, I keep forgetting to comment on our walking progress. The night before his birthday, Conner took 3 steps at home. He has walked a few steps at a time here and there but not everyday. Well last night he took 8 steps at once. He's starting to do it more consistently, so it won't be long before he's walking all the time.

Conner's Ear Surgery

Conner did really well before his ear tube surgery this morning. Mommy and daddy were very tired b/c we had to get up at 4:00 this morning and be at the hospital by 5. After Conner got his "happy juice" he was being very silly. He played peek-a-boo with the blanket for an hour! When I took him back to the surgery area, all the nurses and doctors saw him being silly and he had an audience.

The after surgery part was a little different. They brought him back to us squalling. The nurse said the anesthesia makes them mad and cranky. He finally settled down by the time we got to the car. He got to watch Barney on the way home and that made everything better. He slept for about 3 1/2 hours once we got home and he felt much better. I can't say we can can tell a whole lot of difference yet b/c he's still been a little fussy today. I'd imagine though once these drugs and the "trauma" of today wears off we should start seeing a happier baby.

Christmas Pictures

I've had these back for a few weeks now, but have been so busy with everything else that I forgot to post them. I thought they turned out great. We actually managed to do birthday and Christmas pictures in the same session. Conner barely made it to the end. He started to have a meltdown during the last part (eating his cake) because he was so tired. Thankfully, we got some great smiles out of him! Some of the b'day pictures were posted earlier.

On a side note, we went to the ENT yesterday since Conner has had 5 ear infections in 6 months. The most recent infection will not go away with any antibiotics. We are on the 3rd round of antibiotics right now. Anyway, the ENT thought it would be best to go ahead and do tubes before he has any permanent hearing loss or damage. Shayne and I were already ready for them, so I'm glad the doctor recommended it. We go on Monday to have it done. I feel so sorry for my little man, but I know he will be much happier once we get these tubes in.

Outback

So the grand finale for Conner's b'day was at Outback tonight for dinner. He loves the steak there so we figured we'd treat him to a good dinner and free ice cream. I didn't think this boy was going to stop eating. He ate everything from the bread, salad, steak, veggies, to the ice cream! Needless to say, he's tuckered out sleeping right now! I need to go wake him up so he'll actually go to bed tonight!

Waiting patiently on his steak

Here they come singing to me!
They brought free ice cream...mmmm!

Birthday Party

We had a great time at Conner's party. He got tons of cool toys and clothes. Santa is going to have a hard time trying to find this baby something for Christmas!! Conner loved his Edgar's b'day cake. He ate every bit of it except a little bit of icing. He prefers the cake over icing! Thank you to all of our family and friends for coming to the party and all of the gifts!

Chuck-E-Cheese's

Wow, what a busy weekend. I think we celebrated Conner's birthday all weekend long!

We started out his birthday Friday morning by singing to him when he woke up. Not long after that he decided to go ahead and get in trouble by dumping the cat food all over the place. Then he played around the house until Daddy got home. We took him to Chuck-E-Cheese's for pizza and fun! He absolutely loved it! He ate 2 pieces of pizza and his whole cupcake. He loved the Wac-a-mole game the best and also liked Chuck-E.

Disney World

For Thanksgiving this year we decided that we would go to Disney World. We were a little unsure how the trip would go considering we were driving and also Conner's age. We left the Friday before Thanksgiving and came back the Friday after Thanksgiving. Conner did great on the drive to Orlando, he watched Baby Einstien and slept most of the time. Going to and from Orlando he may have fussed 20 minutes the whole entire time. Thank goodness for the Van's DVD player !!! We had a blast at Disney World. Epcot was our favorite, and we really like Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Animal Kingdom was okay, but it was definitely our least favorite out of the four parks. We were on the go the whole week. We got to the parks early in the morning and stayed all day, and some nights too! We spent at least 10 hours a day at the parks. Conner had a blast, he liked looking at all the people, he loved all the bright colors, and he also enjoyed all the rides we went on. Needless to say he was continuously stimulated during the trip since their was so much to look at. He was also impressed with the fireworks show, once the fireworks started going off, he was in a trance. It was a very tiring week, but we had a blast. We are all glad to be back home now because at the end of the trip all three of us were worn out. We definitely needed a vacation from out vacation !!!
